Woman-Focused Research in Bangladesh

Women’s lack of control over their reproductive health remains a major public health concern, particularly in resource-poor settings where women tend to marry at a relatively young age. Reproductive autonomy, as it relates to women’s empowerment, remains particularly complex in Muslim-majority countries like Bangladesh. In June 2015, D3 in partnership with the Center for Global Health and Development, conducted a nationally representative face-to-face survey of 1,500 men and women in Bangladesh to further investigate reproductive autonomy as it relates to a women’s empowerment.
