Sub-Saharan Africa

D3 has experience conducting research in 17 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

From conducting studies during the 2010 coup in Niger to accessing populations where there are no roads, D3 finds or creates solutions where none exist.  Investing in the local Kenyan firm, Infinite Insight, D3 is committed to developing research capacity throughout Africa.   In West Africa, D3 has conducted multiple waves of a quantitative study measuring the public opinion in Niger, Nigeria and Senegal.  D3 has also conducted simultaneous dual methods studies in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal.  D3’s rigorous review of the survey materials, translations, training, data collection and data processing ensure that data collected across all of the countries is comparable despite language and cultural differences.

When South Sudan became an independent country in 2011, D3 staff was in Juba training local staff on the methods, international standards, and the importance of survey research in addressing the desires and needs of the population.   The resulting research and analysis was presented by D3 staff at a variety of conferences.
